President Andrea Wilson and new Volunteer Elizabeth Marquez attended ASCO’s annual meeting in Chicago from June 3 – 7. Blue Faery was honored to receive an ASCO-sponsored patient advocacy booth, which saves nonprofits hundreds of dollars in exhibit costs. During the conference, Andrea attended many education, poster, and oral abstract sessions that focused on Hepatocellular Carcinoma, professional development (e.g., grant writing), and patient & survivor care.
As part of her ASCO experience, Andrea participated in Research Advocacy Network’s Focus on Research Scholar program where she met many other patient advocates. On behalf of Blue Faery’s Board, Andrea thanks first-time volunteer Elizabeth, who did a fantastic job of running Blue Faery’s booth, explaining our mission, promoting our activities, and engaging conference participants.
