Blue Faery’s Liver Cancer Community

Blue Faery is proud to join HealthUnlocked to create our liver cancer community; it’s the first online patient forum specifically for HCC patients and caregivers. Blue Faery’s Liver Cancer Community is open to all HCC patients and their caregivers. Our goal is to support people diagnosed with primary liver cancer, specifically Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

The online, private, HIPAA-compliant liver cancer forum respects patients and caregivers, allowing you to maintain your privacy as you may join under an alias. In addition, all forum communications are only seen by members. The forum has become an important support system for both patients and caregivers.

About the Community

Our liver cancer forum surrounds you with people that have been where you are and know the best advice to share. There are some things that no medical book can teach, so while doctors are experts in this field, they do not know what it is like to have this disease. Liver cancer support groups like ours allow you to do the following:

  • Share your story

  • Connect with other patients and caregivers

  • Make new friends

  • Receive peer support

  • Learn about HCC patient & caregiver-specific opportunities

Our Liver Cancer Community

At Blue Faery, a part of our mission is to create a safe space for communication between patients with liver cancer, their families, and their caregivers to foster a community of support and information. While we encourage patients to discuss their disease, please remember every patient's journey is different.

A support system with other patients provides valuable information. Those that have dealt with liver cancer and its treatments for significant periods become well-educated on this disease and offer a practical perspective.

Medical professionals are not the only source of care and healing. Support from people that have had or are going through the same challenges as you provides something that doctors and medicines cannot—true understanding.

Recent topics in the community

In addition to the encouragement members provide, our liver cancer community contains a wide range of information on various topics. Recent conversations have included topics such as:

  • Stents and HCC

  • Nausea

  • Tips from Survivors

  • Pain Medication Struggles

  • Infusions and Side Effects

Many members of our liver cancer forum share their treatment experiences, celebrate their good days, and ask for support on their bad days. There is support no matter what stage you are at in your journey. All we ask is that your contributions uphold our mission to create a safe space for our members.

In our community, we do not recommend

  • Treatment Options

  • Medications

  • Doctors

  • Hospitals

Our community is strictly for emotional and mental support. It is not a replacement for doctors or a verified treatment option. The members of this community are not medical professionals but are there to offer advice and support based on their own experiences. We recommend that members always discuss their treatment plans with their doctors.

The advice and information provided in this forum come from liver cancer patients, friends, and family and are not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment plans, or doctors. While we are based in the United States, not all community members are, so the accuracy of the information on medications, insurance, and healthcare depends on member location.

We ask that all community members read our Community Guidelines and abide by them to maintain a safe place for you and others diagnosed with Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Thank you!
