President Andrea Wilson Attends Health Stigma Summit

President Andrea Wilson attended Rude2Respect’s Health Stigma Summit in Evanston, Illinois, on November 3. At an invitation-only conference, Ms. Wilson was delighted to engage with other advocates as they discussed various types of health stigma, including those people diagnosed with Hepatitis C, the most common cause of primary liver cancer in the United States.

The Rude2Respect program is about challenging health stigma. The program’s goal is to create awareness of the many ways stigma is conveyed and reduce its hurtful isolating impact by using personal stories to give voice to those who experience stigma.
