    Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma (FLC) is commonly considered a variation of HCC. However, FLC may be uniquely distinct from HCC in both its epidemiology and prognosis. FLC has an improved prognosis when compared to HCC, and is more commonly found in younger patients with non-cirrhotic livers.
