Blue Faery - The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association

About Us

Meet the Board of Directors

Andrea J. Wilson
President, Founder, chair of Fund Raising Committee
A former Air Force brat who was born in Kansas but raised in Arkansas and Alabama, Andrea moved to Los Angeles in 1990 to pursue her dream of acting in film, television and theatre. She graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1993 with a B.A. in humanities with an emphasis in theatre and a minor in women's studies. Andrea's life changed forever when she got physical custody of her eight-year-old sister, Adrienne, in December 1994. Andrea received her certification in Fund Raising with an emphasis in Institutional Development from UCLA Extension. She previously worked for UCLA's School of Medicine in the Pediatrics-Developmental Studies department. Formerly a development writer for the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Andrea is now a full-time graduate student pursuing her masters in professional writing. Raising Adrienne has been Andrea's greatest joy in life; losing Adrienne to liver cancer has been her greatest loss. Andrea started Blue Faery because she doesn't want another person to lose a loved one to HCC, and she wants the world to know Adrienne's spirit, strength and courage.

Sherri Rose, M.A.
Vice-President, chair of Medical Research Committee
Sherri Rose is currently working on a doctoral degree in biostatistics at UC Berkeley. She received her M.A. in biostatistics from UC Berkeley and her B.S. in statistics from The George Washington University. She is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the California Public Health Association - North.

Monique Beatty

Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, Monique received her B.A. in communications from Gannon University in Erie. She currently lives in Southern California and has been working in animation for over a decade. Monique has worked at various studios including Disney, Dreamworks and Sony. Now she works as a line producer at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank.

Eduardo Leaton, Jr.
Originally from Artesia, New Mexico, Eduardo graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1993 (B.A. public relations/B.A. social science) and 1996 (M.A. Masters in communications management and Juris Doctor). Through his friendship with Andrea at USC, Eduardo got to know Adrienne and was touched by her brilliance and independent spirit. Eduardo is a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Los Angeles Opera League. He is a volunteer speaker in the Los Angeles Opera Speakers Bureau and occasionally presents talks to family audiences and school children. He also enjoys cooking and has obtained a Pro Chef certificate from the Epicurean School of Culinary Arts. Eduardo has an extremely busy schedule, but he is proud to support Blue Faery.

Pam Jones

Chair of Public Relations Committee
Having already raised her family, Pam dedicates her spare time to Blue Faery. A native of Southern California, she has a B.S. in business administration and management. Pam has worked primarily in manufacturing of consumer products; she is currently a manager within the medical lighting industry. Through her friendship with Sherri, she became aware of Blue Faery. She is a member of both the Fund Raising and Public Relations committees.

Marina Uchenik
Marina was born in the Ukraine but raised in Southern California. She attends Los Angeles Pierce College. Her career goals include finishing her degree in accounting and applying for CPA certification. She works at Creative Kids (formerly Latchkey), an after-school program for elementary children, where she supervises and tutors students. Marina met Adrienne in the sixth grade, and they remained friends long after Marina moved to a different school district. Marina volunteers for Blue Faery because she wants to spread awareness of hepatitis and liver cancer, and she doesn't want others to lose a dear friend to a relatively unknown, but extremely common cancer.
